Abstract:
In this paper, we discuss the results of the performance verification of Sentinel-1A & B repeat-pass SAR interferometry (InSAR) using data acquired the novel Interferometric Wide Swath (IW) mode. This IW mode, for the first time, operationally utilizes ScanSAR-type burst imaging with an additional antenna beam steering in azimuth referred to as Terrain Observation with Progressive Scans (TOPS). In particular, we discuss the specifics of TOPS InSAR with Sentinel-1, taking into account its mission and SAR system characteristics, such as burst synchronization, mean Doppler centroid difference, orbital tube and across-track orbital baseline.
