Abstract:
This paper presents the MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) concept for the main radar system of RAWIS. The MIMO radar will offer a three dimensional resolution due to a two dimensional MIMO array topology. The MIMO array will be realized by 24 transmit and 32 receive elements in a special spatial configuration that 768 independent virtual antenna elements in a hexagonal arrangement can be synthesized. Always four used waveforms will be transmitted simultaneously providing a short time orthogonality to shift the ambiguities in the cross-correlation out of the range of interest.
