Abstract:
KOMPSAT-6 is a space-borne SAR satellite in Korea for earth observation mission by virtue of government funding. KOMPSAT-6 SAR payload consists of SAR Sensor Subsystem, Data Link Subsystem and Payload Module. The key characteristics of SAR payload are X-band Active Phased Array Synthetic Aperture Radar for multi-mode operations and high speed data rate downlink for near real-time transmission to Ground Station. SAR pay-load is designed and developed in accordance with KOMPSAT-6 system requirements. This paper presents KOMPSAT-6 SAR payload design concept, performance and development plan.
