Abstract:
Recently, polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (POLSAR) observation can be realized in many platforms. Many techniques have been proposed for the POLSAR data analysis. A Polarization scattering component decomposition technique is the promising one among them. This technique can decompose the POLSAR data into surface, double-bounce and volume scattering components. However, the component models in the technique have many unknowns whose number is larger than the number of the independent observables. Therefore several assumptions are required to derive a unique solution. The authors have reported the concept and basic algorithm of a new scattering component decomposition technique by using multi-baseline dataset. However, when we apply the technique for the patches which have several components including the volume scattering, some modification should be required. In this report, we propose a modified technique for such a case, and provide some computer simulation results.
