Abstract:
This paper presents the backscatter characteristic measurement of simple targets under ground-based Synthetic Aperture Radar (GB-SAR) environment. The rail system was developed to model the GB-SAR environment. The backscatter characteristic of canonical targets in monostatic vv- and hh-polarization was measured at the frequency 1.3 GHz. The canonical targets were dihedral and trihedral corner reflector. Experimental results showed the effect of the GB-SAR environment and the polarization on the backscatter characteristic which led to the accuracy improvement of the moving system and the simulation.
