Abstract:
Non-Linear Frequency Modulation (NLFM) chirp waveform can shape the signal’s Power Spectral Density (PSD) and offer radar matched filter output with lower sidelobes at no cost of reduced SNR. In this paper, we present experiments to construct NLFM transmitting pulses using a real SAR system platform on the ground and show the characteristics of the pulses. In order to demonstrate the advantages of NLFM waveform with better SNR, another experiment using LFM pulses is performed to compare with the NLFM one.
