Abstract:
Resolution is one of the most important concept of SAR quality nowadays. For highly squinted SAR, the azimuth direction and range direction are no longer orthogonal. The conventional method to calculate resolution cannot reflect the real image quality correctly. Also it is difficult while evaluating the point target in SAR images. In this paper, we derive theoretical expressions of the azimuth and range resolution based on the general squinted SAR model and imaging algorithm, and construct a compensation phase expressions during imaging to obtain two orthogonal profiles. The simulation results validate the expressions of the resolutions and the compensation phase.
