Abstract:
The co-registration of heterogeneous images is more challenging than registration of homogeneous SAR images or optical images. Meanwhile, the heights of tanks obviously affect their positions in SAR image. This paper proposes a novel image co-registration method using double-reflection arcs corresponding to the upright surfaces of cylinder tanks in SAR images. Double-reflection arcs and Hough transform of the quasi-circular shadow are utilized to extract to position of oil tanks in SAR images. Then the mapping relationship can be set up and SAR images of oil tanks can be registered to the optical images. Experiment validates that the proposed co-registration method.
