Abstract:
Ground moving target indication (GMTI) with scanSAR data enables wide-area monitoring of moving vehicles. In this paper, the probability of detecting moving objects using dual-channel scanSAR data is estimated in various conditions from simulated data. Preliminary results indicate lower performance for scanSAR, compared to dual-channel stripmap SAR data. The probability of detection for scanSAR also depends on the azimuth position of the target, contrary to conventional SAR. Detailed analyses of these results are underway, but they confirm the expected tradeoff between ground coverage and GMTI performance.
