Abstract:
In preparation of potential future Earth observation Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) missions, the European Space Agency (ESA) is conducting instrument preparatory activities. This paper discusses the status of the on-going pre-developments for the L-band instrument of SAOCOM-CS which is a receive-only satellite, to be launched and to fly in formation with Argentina’s L-band SAR satellite SAOCOM, which acts as an illuminator. This would enable for the first time single-pass SAR interferometry at L-band. This paper presents the status of the predevelopment of the Central Electronics and the Antenna front-end of SAOCOM-CS.
