Abstract:
COSMO-SkyMed di Seconda Generazione (CSG) System can be defined as the follow-on mission to COSMO-SkyMed (CSK) currently operating in orbit, aimed at assuring operational continuity and performance improvement in supplying the SAR imaging services through data and image products. The paper describes COSMO-SkyMed di Seconda Generazione image quality and end-to-end calibration approach that will be used during the commissioning and operational phases. Calibration and Validation (CALVAL) System Tool overview will be provided, describing its context diagram and subsystems (SECF - System Engineering Calibration Facility and Calibration scenarios). CSG calibration activities will be reported, explaining pointing, radiometric and geolocation calibration workflows.
