Abstract:
The Component extrAction and sElection SAR (CAESAR) is a method for the selection and filtering of scattering mechanisms recently proposed in the multipass interferometric SAR framework. Its strength is related to the possibility to select and extract possible scattering mechanisms, even interfering in the same pixel, since the stage of the interferograms generation, and to carry out a phase filtering for decorrelation and noise sources. Up to now, validation of CAESAR has been addressed in the framework of the SAR Tomography for the detection of persistent scatterers, where a specific model of the data can be assumed. In this paper we address the problem of carrying out a quantitative performances analysis of CAESAR, with reference to the filtering of dominant scattering mechanisms, at the stage of the low resolution processing. The latter being necessary for the monitoring at small scale of deformations as well as for the compensation of the atmosphere and the calibration of the data for the subsequent full resolution tomographic analysis.
