Abstract:
The EU-funded project VALERI aimed to validate the use of mobile manipulators for aerospace production. This paper focuses on the development and application of tactile sensors for safeguarding the mobile platform and to allow for intuitive haptic interaction when operating in close proximity to human co-workers. The sensor design and experimental results when used as a safety sensor and for haptic user interaction will be described in this article.
