Abstract:
We propose and demonstrate a power-efficient pump-sharing scheme for optical amplifier arrays. Pump power emerging from amplifiers is re-used, which is more efficient than simply power-splitting a single pump. The efficiency rises for amplifiers operating in an unsaturated regime.
