Abstract:
UHF antenna characteristics, relation between IEC and UHF methods and robustness against external noises are the most important subjects in partial discharge (PD) measurement using UHF techniques. The purpose of this paper is to present results of some laboratory measurements in regards to each above mentioned subjects. Effect of insertion depth as an important UHF probe characteristic, effect of shape of electrodes on relation between IEC and UHF methods and a synthesis analysis on penetrated noises into transformer tank is investigated in this paper, in order to understand influences on the sensitivity of this method.
