Abstract:
When state-of-the-art LED lighting is connected and managed through smart controls in the Internet of Things, the lighting experience is improved while electricity demand can be reduced. Many aspects of LED drivers used for current LED technology (LEDification) are well established. Of these, this paper reviews offline LED drivers and compatibility with installed control gear. Smart LED drivers used for connected lighting pose new challenges which remain to be explored.
