Abstract:
Wireless communication technologies are finding increasing application in industrial environment, specifically for the control of fast moving robots in automated manufacturing. Such systems have to work under stringent real-time constraints. On the other side, wireless signal propagation is disturbed by interferences and moving objects, which makes forward error correction (FEC) a must. Therefore new methods of FEC need to be explored, which are economic in case of low error densities, but can deliver an enhanced multi-error detection capability if needed, all at reasonable cost and with minimum latency.
