Abstract:
This paper describes possible process solutions and concepts for the provision of balancing power and congestion management that may be applied in the future when more and more dispersed units in the distribution grid levels will provide them. These approaches are the result of the cooperation between the 110-kV-distribution system operators (DSO) in East Germany and the transmission system operator (TSO) 50Hertz Transmission. Challenges are described and related requirements derived which arise from an increasingly provision of ancillary services from units connected to the distribution grid levels. Based on this, concepts and possible solutions for coordination between DSO and TSO as well as possible implementation steps are presented.
