Abstract:
Currently, energy management systems for residential buildings are not very widely distributed. Existing approaches are usually restricted to building-internal optimization goals. The German “Energiewende” and the accompanying change of paradigm require energy management at all levels of the energy system. Consequently, there is a need to extend the field of application beyond the scope of individual buildings. This paper describes a concept for a centralized cross-building energy management. The global objective is to present a holistic concept which provides a multi-level energy management that optimizes at the level of the residential district taking into account the flexibility options at the level of individual buildings and households.
