Abstract:
This paper presents reference scenarios of low-voltage power systems for the evaluation of approaches to the optimization and control in smart grids. The scenarios provide not only fully parametrized reference grids for a rural area, a village, and a suburban area, respectively, but also specifications of the connected households, resembling the situation in Germany. This includes data about the usage of appliances and the availability of distributed generation, battery storage systems, electric vehicles, and heat pumps, specifying household scenarios for the present, the soon future, and the more distant future. The scenarios are used to outline the application of exemplary smart grid mechanisms that are based on the traffic light concept (Netzampel) in a power hardware-in-the-loop approach.
