Abstract:
MIMO – Multiple Input Multiple Output – transmission is one of the key technology concepts that has been deployed with LTE. While the 2x2-MIMO variant has been used as the minimum solution world-wide since the day one, the 4x4-MIMO variant has just entered the LTE markets recently. 4x4-MIMO offers spectral efficiency gains through transmit and receive diversity and higher spatial diversity. Thus, throughput performance and system capacity gains can be observed in various combinations of legacy or enhanced end user devices and legacy or enhanced system infrastructure.
