Abstract:
The ad-hoc exploration of areas of interest in case of disaster or accidents has become an important tool for public safety organisations to analysis local endangerments and to control operational actions. Because of limited resources in public TETRA BOSNET network and the availability of professional WiFi equipment, the utilization of Wireless Meshed Networks (WMN) is an interesting option to setup ad-hoc networks and provide high throughput connectivity on site. A live video streaming service with focus on resilience and minimizing network utilization has been designed. Fundamental service behaviour and performance evaluation results are presented to demonstrate operational feasibility for resilient live video streaming.
