Abstract:
The current design of GEO SAR system has shortcomings of extreme high power and extreme long synthetic aperture time for high inclination ones and quasi Geo-stationary ones, respectively. In order to realize a GEO SAR system with relatively low power and short synthetic aperture time, optimization task and design result of a medium inclination MIMO GEO SAR for observing China are proposed, based on application demand. Generalized Ambiguity Function (GAF) of MIMO SAR is derived to give a feasibility comparison of different constellation configurations. System parameters are designed, followed by a design with a tradeoff between antenna size and power. In this paper, GAF of MIMO SAR is derived, and the feasibility of several configurations is analyzed accord-ing to the analytic expression. The serial-flying constel-lation parameter is optimized based on application re-quirement and the spectrum coverage characteristics are analyzed. Finally, the required transmitted power is calculated and a design with a tradeoff between antenna size and power is given.
