Abstract:
The primary purpose of the SAPERE SAFE mission is to provide an improvement of "services for emergency management" (crisis management) in several domains, with a wider use of "space technology". SAPERE SAFE’s added-value services are aimed to quickly acquire information in response to a sudden crisis occurrence on various geographical scales (earthquakes, floods, morphological stability, devastation by multiple factors, fire, etc..). The project focuses in particular on the need to improve system responsiveness, having sensors of a different nature (e.g. radar, optical) and to be able to deploy these instruments more quickly than infrastructures based on larger spacecrafts.
