Abstract:
Polarimetric decomposition theorems qualify as adaptable and expandable analysis tools for security and surveillance applications. Multi-aspect and dual-frequency airborne F-SAR data, acquired over the German Heligoland Island in June 2016 were available for analyzing coherent and incoherent polarimetric decompositions, like the coherent Pauli, Cameron and polar decompositions and the incoherent model- and eigen-based decompositions. The added value of having variety in polarization, frequency and acquisition geometry (different aspects) for security and surveillance applications can be shown exemplarily on the single decomposition approaches and will lead towards a novel joint decomposition technique, customized explicitly for media recognition purposes.
