Abstract:
The paper deals with the quantitative evaluation of the performance of interferometric deformation measurements when geodetic corrections are applied to interferograms. Even if such corrections are available on much coarser resolution than the interferometric data itself, they strongly reduce the signal power of low-pass spatial components that cannot be reduced simply by spatial averaging. This leads to an improvement in the measurement performance in particular at large distances, where such errors are larger. This study investigates the performance using a 550 km Sentinel-1 A/B track over Germany. Residual errors are measured by means of variograms and are used to predict the deformation rate estimation performance.
