Abstract:
It is well known that the unavoidable array position errors of large aperture arrays will significantly degrade the performance of geostationary orbit synthetic aperture radar (GEO SAR) systems. Therefore, it is required to estimate these errors. In this paper, the parametric model of position errors is established firstly. Then, the array selfcalibration method is proposed to estimate the parameters of the position error model based on calibration sources obtained from the range-Doppler images. Simulated results and analysis show that the proposed approach can realize the high accuracy estimation of position errors.
