Abstract:
SAR polarimetry (PolSAR) can improve change detection both in terms of detection capabilities and physical information about the change. Such extra information can be used to better understand the change and therefore plan different actions. In this work, two frameworks for change detection are proposed and compared. The methodology is based on the use of the of Lagrangian optimisations of two distinct operators: a power ratio and a power difference. This can be accomplished by diagonalisation of specific matrices derived from polarimetric covariance matrices. The methodology is initially tested exploiting L-band quadpolarimetric E-SAR (DLR) data from the AGRISAR 2006 campaign, but it will also be tested on ALOS-2 PALSAR quad-polarimetric data before the conference.
