Abstract:
In this study, 10 Corner Reflectors (CR) are exploited with a Sentinel-1 SAR image time series for glacier and moraine displacement measurement in the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc valley. The Radar-Cross Sections of 3 different CRs are measured in an anechoic chamber. The visibility in SAR images of 8 CRs installed over the Argentière glacier and the surrounding moraine are investigated. The amplitude stability and the phase error of each CR are also estimated. A precise tracking of one CR has allowed to measure the displacement of the Argentière glacier. Furthermore, a Persistent Scatter Interferometry study has been initiated to estimate the moraine instability.
