Abstract:
This paper presents an overview of the Ground Processor Prototype (GPP) being developed in the frame of ESA’s Earth Explorer BIOMASS mission. In the first part of the paper, the main challenges to be addressed by the GPP are addressed, namely, the ionosphere, the radio-frequency interferences and the system and data calibration, together with the envisaged solutions. The second part presents an overview of the GPP architectural design.
