Abstract:
Raw data compression is an important step for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems, especially the spaceborne SAR systems. This paper aims at the compression performance of BAQ when there is a junction of strong and weak scattering scene in one data block whose amplitude and standard deviation vary greatly. Analysis and evaluations are made on the signal-to-noise (SNR), the fidelity of the power and quantization noise under different quantization input condition where the standard deviation ratio of the strong and weak scattering scenes or the occupied proportion changes respectively. Analysis of the data from GF3 Satellite is given at last to confirm the simulation results.
