Abstract:
The fact that airborne synthetic-aperture-radar-based ground moving-target indication (SAR-GMTI) is limited to its platform height, which results in the limited coverage area. An ELINT-aided airborne SAR-GMTI system is proposed in this paper, which has the abilities of electronic reconnaissance and imaging capability. By combining the ELINT antenna and SAR-GMTI antenna, the prior angle knowledge of the interested targets can be obtained by the ELINT antenna, with which the SAR-GMTI system can quickly switch its scanning beam pointing to the interested area. Thus, the efficiency of battlefield surveillance is greatly improved.
