Abstract:
In this paper, we report the effect of wideband radio frequency interference (RFI) on Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) and Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR). ALOS-2 receives frequency modulated wideband signals repeatedly from the same place, resulting in its non-negligible appearance in a focused SAR image. It is difficult to remove it with traditional spectrum based filters because its bandwidth is the same or wider than SAR. Furthermore, such RFIs have high temporal coherency and interrupt InSAR analysis. We also briefly discuss an autocorrelation based RFI removal method to overcome such RFI.
