Abstract:
The interest in multistatic SAR missions is recently increasing among the SAR community. The scientific profit of small, low-cost and receive-only systems has proved to provide insights in many applications such as surface deformation studies and forest tomography, using the current SAR systems as signals of opportunity. A review of the steering techniques used in monostatic SAR is presented, along with a discussion on two bistatic steering laws with a different approach in terms of patterns alignment. The SAR performance in ambiguity suppression and sensitivity is discussed for both techniques, considering the SAOCOM/CS system as the use-case.
