Abstract:
A new self-powered sensor with wireless connectivity is presented. The system is powered by Energy Harvesting from walking. Force sensors measure the impact force at different positions. The collected data is processed and transmitted to a smartphone using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). On the smartphone, the data is analyzed and visualized. In a prototypical implementation, the complete system is built into the sole of a shoe. Initial tests show that the harvested energy is sufficient for a stable operation of the embedded system.
