Abstract:
A new sensor concept for a low power capacitive angle sensor is proposed. The measuring range is about at least 90deg and can be expanded. This sensor is suitable for applications with a very limited space available and where magnetic field sensors should not be used. The information about the angle at the output of a low power signal conditioning electronics is frequency-bound and can easily be measured with microcontrollers. The total power consumption of the sensor and electronics is lower than 150 muW.
