Abstract:
Since more and more in-car communication (ICC) systems are introduced in the market, suitable and realistic testing methods are desired by the industry. This contribution presents a recently conducted study on perceived listening effort for several simulated ICC systems in two different vehicle cabins. A description of the evaluation setup as well as the auditory test procedure are provided. Results of these listening tests are illustrated and discussed. Based on the auditory data, the exploratory instrumental assessment of listening effort is investigated. Several common intelligibility measures are considered for this comparison analysis.
