Abstract:
When charging electric vehicle fleets at one location, it is often cheaper not to equip the location with the maximum power. In addition, it is more favorable if there are no load peaks that increase the power price. In order to avoid this grid load and to distribute the limited site power, a charging management (CM) can be used. Static CM is a simple tool to prevent a peak load. However, the wrong method can lead to extended charging times. In order to ensure individual vehicles in the fleet that require high availability, there is an option to prioritize them. This raises the question of which CM method makes sense for the remaining vehicles in the vehicle fleet. Within this elaboration, static charging management methods with and without priority vehicles are investigated. The investigation is carried out by evaluating the algorithms in several simulations. It can be seen that the total charging time of the First Come First Serve algorithm is reduced by 17.39 % in comparison to the Equal algorithm, and this reduction can also be measured in combination with priority vehicles.
