Abstract:
The prototype of an IEEE 802.15.4 compliant wireless sensor network for anti-theft systems is proposed. It is a result of the R&D project “Theft detection and alarming through an energy self-sufficient, self-organized, wireless sensor network” funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. The sensor network is composed of sensor node clusters which are connected by multi-hop routes. A set of measures ensures full self-organization and energy efficiency of the sensor network. A long-term test showed that the wireless sensor network is suitable not only for anti-theft systems, but for other applications.
