Abstract:
Massive MIMO systems with correlation-based noncoherent detection are an attractive alternative to channelestimation- based systems. So far, receivers are designed based on an approximate analytic signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) seen at the correlation matrix. This SINR does not take into account the feedback symbols from decision-feedback differential detection. In this paper, we analytically derive the feedback-aware SINR. Based on this, the detection algorithm is adapted to make use of per-detection-step windowing coefficients, which are optimized employing the feedback-aware SINR. We compare the proposed approach to the straightforward one in terms of complexity and symbol error rate performance.
