Abstract:
In multicasting networks, a multiple antennas base station broadcasts the same information to a single group of single-antenna users. In this paper we propose a novel approach to address the problem of insufficient degrees of freedom in multicasting networks and provide general rank beamforming solutions. Our beamforming technique is based on real-valued full rate orthogonal space-time block codes. The quality of service optimization problem is solved and the beamforming solutions are combined with real-valued OSTBC code. Simple symbol-by- symbol decoding can be used efficiently at each network user to retrieve the transmitted information. Simulation results demonstrates a superior performance compared with the state-of- the-art design especially for networks with large number of users.
