Abstract:
proof of concept of a conformal adaptive phased array is presented. The conformal, low-profile patch array is realized on a flexible substrate combined with flexible PCB technology. The phasing of the array is controlled by four vector modulators controlled via an Arduino microcontroller. Beam steering is demonstrated with the antenna on a flat surface and with the antenna conformed to a cylindrical surface with radius R = 160 mm. The realized antenna enables the design of scalable, adaptable, conformal phased array systems.
