Abstract:
We propose optical single-sideband transmission for spectral efficient 5G mobile fronthaul with massive MIMO antenna arrays. The paper reports on experimental validation and achievable data rates after transmission over 25 km SSMF in various 5G-uplink scenarios with 4x8x2 MIMO and up to 12 orthogonal layers.
