Abstract:
This study addressed landslide detection in mountainous forested areas using polarimetric and interferometric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data by PALSAR-2. We obtained high accuracies (κ > 0.6) for landslides in the 2018 Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake and the July 2017 Heavy Rain in Northern Kyushu. These results showed the feasibility of rapid landslide detection by L-band spaceborne SAR data.
