Abstract:
ESA has founded the Sentinel-1 Next Generation Phase-0 studies with the objective of proposing mission concepts and system architectures for the next generation of Sentinel-1(S1-NG) satellites. The mission, keeping the continuity by means of a C-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), is conceived to broaden the spectrum of potential applications and services provided by the current Sentinel-1 mission with advanced capabilities. In this context, the present contribution shows the main outcomes of an ESA supported study. The key mission and instrument concepts are described together with the main associated performance for the future Sentinel-1 systems.
