Abstract:
In this paper, a new perspective from target decomposition is proposed to analyze the azimuth ambiguities in conventional and hybrid quad-pol SAR. First, the scattering matrix of azimuth ambiguities in quad-pol SAR is derived. Then, the formulas of azimuth ambiguity to signal ratio for the three polarization components after Pauli decomposition are given. In addition, the azimuth ambiguity performance of hybrid and conventional quad-pol SAR in the new perspective are compared so that some new conclusions are drawn. Furthermore, the correctness of the conclusions is validated by simulation and real GF-3 data.
