Abstract:
This paper presents a new method for terrain estimation using multi-aspect satellite Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) images. Multi aspect observation can obtain more abundant information of ground targets. An elevation extraction model is built under multi-aspect satellite SAR geometry, where a coefficient k is deduced to describe the relationship between elevation difference and offset of image points. Image pairs are converted into ground coordinate system. Then the distance between image points can be inverted to elevation. We experiment on two GaoFen-3 spotlight images(both from descending orbit but with different look directions)acquired over the area of Shanghai .Preliminary result is presented.
