Abstract:
In order to decarbonize the German transport sector, both mobility transformation measures and the energy transition in transport are available. The mobility transformation is also accompanied by current and future trends such as car sharing or autonomous driving. In order to understand the impact on energy consumption, costs and emissions, scenarios of transport until 2050 were analysed in this paper. Under the assumptions made, with complete decarbonization in the target year 2050, intensive car sharing leads to a cost reduction of 20 % and autonomous driving to a reduction of 28 %. Furthermore, the study shows that the new mobility concepts can lead to a reduction of the necessary efforts regarding the energy transition in transport. However, this requires their integration into current public mobility concepts such as buses and trains.
