Abstract:
This paper proposes a multi-static SAR constellation distributed in elevation with a signal reconstruction scheme, aiming to deliver high resolution imaging over a wide area. The constellation is assumed to operate above the Nyquist frequency imposed by the antenna length, whereas the swath extends by a factor the unambiguous swath, i.e., range ambiguities occurs in the images of every constellation element. We proposed a reconstruction technique, based on the minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) beamformer, to suppress range ambiguities in the range azimuth time domain. The suppression in this domain allows to derive important characteristics of beam former performance, upon which a more efficient and practical suppression implementation can be later realized.
