Abstract:
The paper compares three possibilities (3D-FEM, 2D-FEM, Analytical) for radial force calculation of a reluctant axially symmetric linear motor, due to an off-center position of the translator. The basis for the calculation of the radial force of the 2D model and the analytical calculation, is the decomposition of the motor into n equal pie-piece-like sections along the circumference and their conversion into "plane" bodies, which have the same height at each point. Under consideration of the equality of the cross-sectional areas penetrated by the magnetic flux. Using an example motor, the radial forces for different eccentricity values and current strengths are calculated using the three possibilities and then compared.
